It is ultimately the people who need to understand the system and how it benefits them.

Price discovery DAO through conviction voting can provide a robust alternative for open-source funding.

Even if the system works and development is easy, marketing is the last bottleneck.

America, too, is not a true democracy; it is driven by capitalism and big money.

Restoring democracy requires redesigning the four pillars of democracy and building institutions with better voting methods. But even America is not immune to corruption.

If consumers mainly choose lowest price β†’ firms compete by cutting quality β†’ equilibrium = cheap + poor quality.

Under a free market, Nash equilibrium is not utopian; it results in the cheapest low-quality outcomes everywhereβ€”such as disinformation, adulterated products, and shitcoins

Economists have always promoted the free market as a utopian ideal. Crypto is a truly free-market system. But what we get from a free market are things like shitcoins such as Doge and Trump coins. Theory and reality are very mismatched.

There is still no freelancer bidding platform built on blockchain. Since blockchains are inherently well-suited for auctions, such a platform could be developed where clients stake funds and submit job posts, and freelancers submit bids. This could significantly reduce commission charges.

Making it too hard to get tokens makes the app barely usable β€” people simply won’t join. But making it too easy invites spam and abuse. The key is to find the Goldilocks balance: not too hard, not too easy, just right to encourage genuine users while discouraging bad actors.

Continue reading on Firefly.Social I agree with this. Though with the proviso that because Ethereum is permissionless, various centralized and closed things will inevitably exist on top of it. Our job should be to make the open-source, permissionless, trustless, secure censorship resistant ecosystem strong, so that it can hold its own and ultimately prove itself superior to both anything closed / permissioned / trusted-party-backdoored on Ethereum, and to such things outside Ethereum in the traditional world.
