Economists have always promoted the free market as a utopian ideal. Crypto is a truly free-market system. But what we get from a free market are things like shitcoins such as Doge and Trump coins. Theory and reality are very mismatched.

I don’t understand what we, as people, are actually doing. It feels as if everything has been steadily collapsing for the past three decades. When will we finally take control of our own money? The solution seems so simple, that its easy to be ignored.

There is still no freelancer bidding platform built on blockchain. Since blockchains are inherently well-suited for auctions, such a platform could be developed where clients stake funds and submit job posts, and freelancers submit bids. This could significantly reduce commission charges.

Making it too hard to get tokens makes the app barely usable — people simply won’t join. But making it too easy invites spam and abuse. The key is to find the Goldilocks balance: not too hard, not too easy, just right to encourage genuine users while discouraging bad actors.

Our job should be to make the open-source, permissionless, trustless, secure censorship resistant ecosystem strong, so that it can hold its own and ultimately prove itself superior to both anything closed / permissioned / trusted-party-backdoored on Ethereum, and to such things outside Ethereum in the traditional world.
