I think we actually live in the worst times for Star Wars fan culture. Hate has been commodified so now every headline, every article, every video has to come with an angle of disappointment. Even those of us who love Star Wars begin to feel like it is failing in some way. It’s fucking exhausting.
I think Rise is my favorite because, IMO, it’s Rey’s best movie. 🤔

It’s been pointed out before, but it’s really cool how JJ took the line “murderous snake” from TLJ and made some great symbolism in Rise.
I also like the snake symbolism in reference to Kylo/Ben Solo. The snake doesn't just represent evil and in this scene the snake isn't evil just wounded. But it's also a symbol of renewal/rebirth like a snake shedding it's skin. 🦋
