One President invites them in for refuge and assylum. And just like that the next treats them like terrorists. America may be feared around the world, but we are certainly no longer respected.

AAA shows gas prices are UP year over year for all grades of gasoline except for Regular. Regular is down $0.004. Less than a penny, and the govt has stopped producing pennies.

"Thanksgiving Costs" = one non-comparable meal offered by Walmart

Wouldn't that be the job of the BBA, not the SBA?

Back of napkin. 1% die each year. 42M on snap. 400k die this year. 33k just in last 30 days. That's big number administratively probably still "on the rolls", but isn't evidence of "full of corruption".

Is it the "hick" in my screen name that nullifies my sarcasm, or just run of the mill it's-hard-to-read-tone-from-text that does it? I kinda like the /s designation, but it seems to take away some of the fun. btw - I agree, we're doomed.

If you lend money to the govt, they pay you 4.1% for 10 years and 4.7% for 30 years. Why would the 30 and 50 year mortgage both have the same interest rate as they do in the example they put on the screen? If the 50 is a little higher, you don't see a lower payment.

A rise of 1.1% is just the first necessary step toward net zero.

The problem is when you're sick and dying, you'd pay anything to fix that. It's not a fair fight.

According to AAA, national price of Regular is $3.072 today, and $3.083 a year ago. So, down $0.011. Party time. Mid-Grade is up. Premium is up. Diesel is up $0.20.

But it’s even worse because he used 6% for both loans, but interest rates increase as you lengthen the time.

I hate to defend the monster, but I suppose an HSA plan could work this way. Instead of the govt subsidizing low deductible high premium plans, you would buy a high deductible plan yourself. The govt would give you money to fund your HSA and you would effectively buy healthcare directly with that.

National average price for gas is down a whopping $0.09 from one year ago, so break out the Dom Perignon to celebrate our riches.

So a Bitcoin holding company with huge operating losses, $2B in net assets, trading for $3.5B. Why not just buy Bitcoin instead of this garbage company?

They won't stop it. The slow building disaster of US economic change is as real as climate change, but tariffs address money and power for the US now, where as stopping climate change is about making a better future for all people in the distant future.

Whoa, this is Bluesky, we're all on the same team here. I was making the point that it is unfair China gets blamed for higher emissions when they are actually lower on a per capita basis. Good point about the manufacturing outsourcing. That adds the pollution of our consumption to their stats.
