That does happen a lot, but that’s not the only source. We’ve had 3 within 10 miles of me last month and there was no lightning. Cigarettes, mufflers dragging on pavement, campfires not thoroughly squashed, welding, metal on metal sparks, and POS arsonists make up the others.

I can’t help but believe it has to be, at least in part. A lot of straight stupid fucks, as well. They certainly don’t punish people hard enough for “accidental” fires.
We’re seeing cars covered in ash down in Yelm. It’s gross and scary and I’m sick of it.
