We put the shovel away but also did our Sunday errands today. I’m hoping that evens out to a nice 6-8”
The whole family is sick, so instead of spending the weekend in New Orleans for a wedding, we’ll spend it watching the snow forecast change every hour.
This is brilliant.
My e-bike (a cargo bike for me and the kid) is the best purchase we’ve made in years. We’re both happier on the bike, and I have plenty of storage if I decide to run errands. And like you said, I don’t have worry about getting worn out. I feel like I’m 25 again!
Those hats are the true St. Paul swag.
Yeah, these were not Amazon drivers. But I agree, it’s really obvious when they are.
The babysitter introduced our kid to Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood last night, and now our kid is hooked. Best $40 I’ve ever spent.
My family owned rental properties for decades. When their tenants had trouble making rent, they worked out a plan together. Sometimes the plan meant the renter moved out, but it never involved eviction. Turning over a rental is way more expensive than forgiving some rent.
Yeah, when I was in high school I was like, okay, sad. Then I had a kid and realized baby shoes are purely decorative.
One worked in an Allison’s Transmission plant and the other had a desk job, but his PTSD was so bad that his real job was drinking.
I saw multiple vans today with stickers that just said “Delivery Truck”
I’m the oldest of three and the most competent person in the room.
All the freaking time
We keep telling folks at All Energy they’d make bank by coming up with a way to retrofit them with heaters.
Worth every freaking penny. And when I figured out there was a place right next to my kid’s school so I didn’t have to make an extra trip? Chef’s kiss.
I'm not sorry about all the snow, but it is my fault for getting my bikes ready for spring.
They are also really awesome about vaccinating little kids. I took our kid for her COVID and flu shots last year, and they got her through the process meltdown free, which is nearly impossible.
A huge benefit of being my own boss is not getting weak ass emails like these. I may have typed “the current environment” a thousand times, but only because I save the swears for client meetings.
Yeah, it’s yet another layer to this cluster of awfulness.
Just circling back, in case anyone needed clarity...
Your neighbors. Toddlers don’t wear out their socks and they’re too small to get reused for anything but toddler feet.
Our kid was not happy to have the Olympics preempt movie night, but after one end she was all in on curling. Like it might be the only sport she lets us watch.
Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.
“Just give people money.”
My heart breaks.
Seriously. My 4yo knows the ICE people are taking people away from their families and making her school less safe. She has a stack of zines from little free libraries so she can learn how to protect people. Her separation anxiety is through the roof.
Today, instead of picking a book from the little free library my 4yo picked the ICE Out zine so she could ”learn how to protect neighbors from the ICE people.“ She read it while she walked into school. I am so proud and so heartbroken.
Caucuses have such a high barrier for participation. I wanted to go this year, but the logistics are so difficult for families (and many, many others.) Plus my past experiences have been pretty negative. Maybe some people have caucuses that don’t suck?
You’d think the Minneapolis Fed could read the fucking room just a smidge better than this.
I had so many people leftsplain what was happening in my Midway neighborhood as if we weren’t the ones living through it. It was so exhausting.
Moms, people who historically don't give a crap about anything. Sigh.
