Now, imagine the scene as it is in the novel, we’re Clark’s character is in a gangster but a US senator. Hmm, that’s a prescient characterization. #FilmNoirClub

That’s what made him the best screenwriter in town. #FilmNoirClub

I highly recommend the film IVY, which Metty shot for San Wood, but which was really influenced by production designer, William Cameron Menzies. I feel Metty took a lot from Menzies, his sense of negative space and bold composition. #FilmNoirClub

In the book is character is known as simply as “Sailor.” I found it weird that they put the character’s name above the actor in the title sequence. #FilmNoirClub
