Black Residents Win Key Ruling in ‘Cancer Alley’ Environmental Racism Case The lawsuit could force a jury to decide if turning Black communities into sacrifice zones is a legacy of slavery.

“The case will force a jury to decide whether the disproportionate placing of facilities, whose pollution is tied to cancer cases, asthma, heart and lung diseases, and neurological issues, is a vestige of slavery.”

Unlike a disease that can be cured, slavery was a federal mandate not a subjective state of mind. It shaped every aspect of our ancestors’ lives for generations. It’s a history resiliency. We MUST embrace both the good & the bad without shame.

Negro History week was started by Carter G. Woodson. While we can’t speak for FBA as we are not affiliated with them, but ADOS needs to be recentered in Black History Month. We came from slavery and started a tradition to honor our achievements in America.
