i've started to really hate the word empathy because it has drifted so far from its original definition that people just use it in a "vaguely positive buzz word" way and it drives me bonkers. words have meanings!

ok it's more like, people aren't going to randomly check our website on their own, but they might glance at a physical sign while they stop by to pick up books. like half of our storytime crowd is probably just from parents who saw our big storytime sign in the entrance and decided to attend

on top of that, our new director wants to get rid of our physical bulletin boards because having paper pamphlets and flyers looks "messy". dude, people are not going to scan QR codes to learn more about our services! they just aren't! we rely on in person foot traffic for our marketing!

LRP i am increasingly annoyed with my library for getting rid of cash registers so that the only way to make transactions now is through QR code/website. a huge number of our patrons simply will not engage in a service or transaction if it involves a QR code

tbh I don't think this is that niche but man we gotta make LIVING accessible for people who don't have smart phones and/or data. I'm talking bus schedules, restaurant menus, doing your laundry, accessing social security and unemployment, all of it. we goddamn GOTTA dude

haha i think everyone is just very personal about their names and the transition would be uncomfortable since a lot of them are also friends outside of work? but soon it's going to be like "cal", "al", and "alan" for example, and anyway i secretly want an excuse to have cool code names at work

we are getting a new hire at work whose name is very similar to two of our existing staff, and i am already anticipating the confusion and misunderstandings... i proposed we all go by our initials but it hasn't caught on. people simply love to mishear things and be confused

my previous therapists had never heard of genderqueer identities and like, they were nice and willing to listen, but they didn't really Get It and it felt like having to constantly explain things to a little baby who couldn't comprehend things that feel like basic knowledge to me

i'm on a quest to get a new therapist and it's tough going because i have a lot of criteria to filter for potential therapists! like they have to know what a nonbinary person is. i cannot be the first nonbinary person they have ever met. you know

he's also creepy toward female staff and just rude in general and i hate seeing him come in because he's so hard to deal with! definitely in the top 5 worst regulars we have
