How do I never seem to be on one of these clean trains? I’d take smoke free, even if it wasn’t the cleanest ever.
I’m sure I’ll land cleanly in my new apartment and I’ll find new joy and will be able to care for my responsibilities, but for right now, it all just feels like a ton.
Today, I’m trying to look at items around what has been the home I shared with a person who I thought was also building towards forever with me. I can’t remember what was “his,” what is “mine,” and what is “ours.” I’d have preferred not to ever have to think that way.
There’s kind people around me who occasionally check in and share nice sentiments about fresh starts, but the burden and pressure feels so continuous.
Trying to be a productive worker, a son to aging parents with health issues, a dog dad, and a dissertation writer on top of all of that has felt so tough.

Happy #EarthDay to my fellow #Earthlings, except those who abuse the planet and think of our home as just a resource to be exploited. Here’s a few pictures I gathered this year when I was in awe of our planet.
I’m really struggling, but me saying that in front of people makes them uncomfortable

A little woodland crocus for your springy Saturday
To anyone living in a state that doesn't respect you for who you love or who you are: Illinois has a place for you.
You are seen, you are celebrated, you are protected, and you are welcome here in our state.

Even Drumpf doesn’t know.
Good morning to the queer folx in the thread.
@chicagocta.bsky.social it’s rush hour and we’ve all been waiting for a red line train at Morse for 15 minutes. No announcements. You’re failing.
@ctaalerts.bsky.social any news of delays on southbound red line trains. Been waiting at Morse for 15 minutes
Happy Pulaski Day!
The first vote I ever cast was for Glenn Poshard!

Agree. We need to stop platforming and giving voice to the fascist ideas.
I have a new small goal of putting the word “boffo” somewhere in my dissertation.
Remember those quaint days when the GOP denounced Nazism? Now we’ve got Cabbage Patch VP in Europe saying “they’re not so bad”
