Happy New Year! Too cloudy to see the sunrise, but it was still beautiful in Sunderland this morning.

Being a SENDCo is one hell of a struggle at the moment. Paperwork is out of control. Funding is non-existent. Constantly feeling that our children deserve better - I'm doing all I can and it's not enough.
I've never known things to be so difficult. Year 29 of teaching is really testing me.

It was great to meet you today. Thank you for coming to visit our 'small but mighty' primary school!

We have a fantastic Exec Head, so I'm really lucky and she splits her week between the 2 schools.

Each day is so different and sometimes I'd just love a bit of calm!!!

Are there any other primary Heads of School out there? I feel we're a rare breed! Not DHT and not HT - floundering in the abyss in between!!

Yes - my brain is constantly on the go! I sing in a choir once a week and that does help. Maybe, I need to sing more and concentrate on the lyrics and harmonies.

Help needed!
I find it incredibly difficult to relax - I'm constantly 'doing things', whether this is during term time or during holidays. I've just had a spa morning and couldn't even relax then!
All advice welcome!

My 2 children are nearly 23 and 18 and are currently having the time of their lives at the Eras tour. I'm so lucky that they are not just brother and sister, but they're best friends too. Well, until they want to flatten each other!!
I do miss them being little though!!
