Heretical 'faith alone' nonsense. You left out "...who walk not according to the flesh." while posting an immodestly dressed woman, tempting others to sin. πŸ‘‰ Matthew 5:28 πŸ‘ˆ

"Although the tradition of the fathers has attributed to the Apostolic See so great authority that none would dare to contest its judgment, and has preserved this ever in its canons and rules, and current ecclesiastical discipline in its laws still pays the reverence which it ought to the name of Peter... For he himself has care over all the churches, and above all of that which he sat... Since, then Peter is the head of so great authority, and has confirmed the suffrages of our forefathers since his time... and as Bishops you are bound to know it; yet; though such was our authority that none could reconsider our decision." Against the Protestant lie that the Catholic Church 'hid' the Bible. Tyndale was executed for heresy, not the act of translating.

β€œThe followers of Antichrist will be marked with a character in imitation of the sign that St. John saw upon the foreheads of the servants of God. 9 This indicates that Antichrist and his prophet will introduce ceremonies to imitate the Sacraments of the Church. In fact there will be a complete organization a church of Satan set up in opposition to the Church of Christ. Satan will assume the part of God the Father; Antichrist will be honored as Saviour, and his prophet will usurp the role of Pope. Their ceremonies will counterfeit the Sacraments and their works of magic be heralded as miracles. A similar project was attempted in the fourth century when Julian the Apostate counterfeited Catholic worship with pagan ceremonies in honor of Mithras and Cybele. He established a priesthood and instituted ceremonies in imitation of Baptism and Confirmation. 10” [Fr. E. Sylvester Berry, The Apocalypse of St. John, p. 138, 1921]

β€œHence a distinction arises between the seat and the one sitting in it in the matter of perpetuity. The seat, that is, the perpetual right of the primacy - owing to God in His unchangeable law and supernatural providence, and owing to the Church in her right and duty of forever keeping as a deposit the power divinely instituted for the individual successors of Peter and of procuring their succession by a firm law - never ceases. But the individual heirs or those sitting in the Apostolic seat are mortal men, and so the seat can never fail, but it can be vacant, and often is vacant. Even at that time there indeed remain the divine law and institution of perpetuity...” [Cardinal Franzelin, Theses De Ecclesia Christi, Thesis 13, p.227, 1887]

β€œFrom ancient times a distinction has been made between the Apostolic See and its actual occupant: between sedes and sedens. The object of the distinction is not to discriminate between the two nor to subordinate one to the other, but rather to set forth their intimate connection. The See is the symbol of the highest papal authority; it is, by its nature, permanent, whereas its occupant holds that authority but for a time and inasmuch as he sits in the Chair of Peter.” [The Catholic Encyclopedia, (A) The Apostolic See, 1907]

"And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman from the crowd, lifting up her voice, said to him: Blessed is the womb that bore thee, and the paps that gave thee suck. But he said: Yea rather, blessed are they who hear the word of God, and keep it." [Luke 11:27-28]

Ver. 28. Menounge, imo vero, yes indeed. Our Saviour does not here wish to deny what the woman had said, but rather to confirm it: indeed how could he deny, as Calvin impiously maintained, that his mother was blessed? By these words, he only wishes to tell his auditors what great advantage they might obtain by attending to his words. For the blessed Virgin, as St. Augustine says, was more happy in having our Saviour in her heart and affections, than in having conceived him in her womb. (Tirinus) [Haydock]

The Haydock commentary might help those who misinterpret Luke 11:28 to mean Jesus is contradicting the woman who said the Virgin Mary was blessed.

Finally, the fact that the evil, as long as they live, can be corrected from their errors does not prohibit the fact that they may be justly executed, for the danger which threatens from their way of life is greater and more certain than the good which may be expected from their improvement. They also have at the critical point of death the opportunity to be converted to God through repentance. And if they are so stubborn that even at the point of death their heart does not draw back from evil, it is possible to make a highly probable judgment that they would never come away from evil to the right use of their powers.

Even when it is a question of the execution of a condemned man, the State does not dispose of the individual’s right to life. In this case it is reserved to the public power to deprive the condemned person of the enjoyment of life in expiation of his crime when, by his crime, he has already disposed himself of his right to live.

Another kind of lawful slaying belongs to the civil authorities, to whom is entrusted power of life and death, by the legal and judicious exercise of which they punish the guilty and protect the innocent. The just use of this power, far from involving the crime of murder, is an act of paramount obedience to this Commandment which prohibits murder. The end of the CommandmentΒ is the preservation and security of human life. Now the punishments inflicted by the civil authority, which is the legitimate avenger of crime, naturally tend to this end, since they give security to life by repressing outrage and violence. Hence these words of David: β€œIn the morning I put to death all the wicked of the land, that I might cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of the Lord” (Ps 100:8).
