I think I need to take social media book suggestions with a grain of salt. Currently reading a thriller/mystery book, and to be honest, it's felt pretty cheesy the entire time.

Also, the blue kitchen and brown accent walls are gone, and I could not be happier. 😌

I love that Gabrielle's new thing is saying "yeah!" "Wanna go downstairs and get a snack?" "Yeah!"

This has quite literally been the worst summer ever. I'm so over it.

While prepping the house so painting can begin tomorrow sucked, I absolutely cannot wait to get rid of our blue kitchen. It was a bad paint job to begin with and the sheen was weird. I also cannot wait to get rid of the brown accent walls in the living room.

How naive we were to think Gabrielle would just take a long nap in the car to and from Laredo. She is almost two hours past her nap time and screaming. This has been the longest car ride ever, and we're still 29 minutes from home. 🫩

Nerdily very excited to participate in the Round Rock Public Library summer reading challenge.

How do people nap on the rail? I'd be so paranoid that I'd fall asleep too deeply and miss my stop.

I can't help but feel lame about getting a babysitter for date night and then coming home at 10pm after leaving the house at 7pm. The reality is that we're both tired and getting in bed and going to sleep sounds way better than staying out late.

Had the absolute best day with Andy and Gabrielle. Went out for breakfast this morning, played a lot, and then went out to dinner. I'm so glad my sweet girl is feeling better this weekend.

Gah, it feels amazing outside right now.

Read a booktok recommendation, and I...didn't really enjoy it... On the plus side, I read it fairly quick, but it wasn't super satisfying when I finished it either.

Also, I cannot wait for our evenings to finally be over 30° soon. 😵‍💫🥶

Few things feel as counterproductive as flossing, brushing, and then using mouthwash only to guzzle honey because your allergies are irritating your throat and making you cough.

I was not expecting to be as emotional as I have been about Gabrielle turning one today. I love her so, so much.

Why do sips of cold water right before bed hit so different and good?

I love being cozy, so the fact that I got a ton of jammies for Christmas this past year was legit. Add my Comfy oversized hoodie to that, and I am fully prepared to be cozy during these next few days of icky cold weather.

Also, I loved seeing everyone's year in books, but wow, I felt embarrassed as hell when I realized I only read one book last year. Trying to give myself grace because 2024 was me learning to be a mom, but damn, I still felt some way about how little I read.

Something I didn't expect to warm my heart so much: getting into bed and realizing Gabrielle's stuffed llama, from the Llama Llama Red Pajama book, was near my pillow. Life with her is so sweet, even if it is exhausting at times.

Absolutely cannot wait for my new glasses! Somehow I've had my current pair for three years already, but I thought I got them two years ago. Looking forward to something different.

I love our family, but damn, nothing beats coming home to your own house after a long trip.

Today is the first day of winter, and it's 76° in Laredo lol. It will be 82° on Christmas Eve.

Things I will always do: check the weather forecast before packing. I don't want to be unnecessarily cold, but I especially don't want to be hot because I assumed it would be colder.

Watching Kacey Musgraves perform "Dinner With Friends," possibly my favorite song off her new album, healed me in some sorta way. Literally shed a few tears.

We had our first night out alone since Gabrielle was born. We left shortly after 7 and came home ten 'til 10. 😂 Listen, I caught her daycare crud and have been getting over it, so I've been tired all week. I was ready for bed by 8:45 lol

I just realized my 9 1/2 month old is three inches away from being half my height. 😵‍💫

Today is my first day reading over lunch instead of doom scrolling. I used to LOVE reading over lunch and then stopped, but here's to picking that back up again!
