Governments do need to look beyond subsidising poverty to removing the causes of poverty.

I've just heard on BBC news that record numbers are in hospital with 'flu. Do we now need an investigation into the possible over-diagnosis of influenza?

If Trump can say all Afghanis or all Somalis are criminals because one of them committed a crime, then why aren’t all white men working in Evangelical churches sexual predators, because DOZENS of them have been convicted of said crimes just this year?

I feel so sorry for the many decent Americans who will hear this racist claptrap from their President and feel a deep sense of shame. Let's hope this will motivate them to vote appropriately when the time comes. The future of their country as a beacon of democracy is in their hands.

If you look at the ridiculous case studies they dredged up & the desperate attempts to hang Reeves for ‘lying’ about the rationale behind a policy she *did not introduce*, you might work out why right-wing media is straining *not* to talk about the finer detail of her (unremarkable) budget.

So the pound is up, the markets like the budget even the banks and fund managers. If this had been a conservative budget this would be the front page of all the media. However it’s buried on the inside pages if mentioned at all.

And everyone else should be paying more than me to make things fairer.
