It's prime lighthouse season in Maine 🛟🌊⚓
This is a study I worked on over the last few years with @kinnathakarar.bsky.social and others that shows the power of education on changing mindsets regarding stigmatized conditions!
Breaking: Harvard's response to the government's threat of withholding research grants to exert control over universities 👇
Research grants are not political weapons. The stakes are not abstract: Every $ withheld is a delayed cure, a patient or family left behind.

"None of this is to say that Mr. Trump shouldn’t have the opportunity to govern. Seventy-seven million Americans cast ballots to put Mr. Trump back in the White House... But is this unconstitutional overhaul of the American government... really what those voters signed up for?"
Enough politics for now; here's a picture of my dog.
Tariffs will not solve the opioid epidemic, instead they will raise the cost of living for millions of Americans driving more to financial insecurity, which incidentally is one of the key causes of addiction. #tariffs #opioids #addiction #publichealth #politics
The removal of #HIV- and #LGBTQ-related resources from the websites of CDC and other health agencies is deeply concerning.

This is a very informative article for anyone who wants to learn more about the various statuses of immigrants living in the USA.
There should be no debate among rational people that a sitting president editing the constitution by executive order is entirely unconstitutional.
One of my favorite photos I've taken of the Portland, ME head light, back in 2022, better times.
If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have profoundly misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Nothing like making healthcare affordable again!!

It's insane to me that in today's Washington Marco Rubio is a moderate who was unanimously confirmed as secretary of state.
I'm not even upset; I'm actually somewhat relieved as Rubio is not floridly insane and unqualified, unlike some other cabinet appointees.
This man (and no doubt many of his followers) believe that by signing a piece of paper he can just shred the U.S. Constitution that he and his followers so vehemently think they protect. Spoiler alert: he can't!
"That's a big one," Trump says as he signs an executive order defining birthright citizenship. The president cannot change the Constitution on his own, but Trump has made it clear he wants to deny birthright citizenship, which is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment, to the children of noncitizens.
After 80 years the nazis finally have taken the White House.
Sometimes when I get spam calls, I like to practice my Spanish. I just got one from the Maine Republican Party and said "Lo siento, yo no hablo Ingles. ¿Estás llamando por mi cheque de bienestar?" The caller seemed frustrated and hung up quickly!
Really fun weekend of football (sorry if your team lost).
But tomorrow America dies, oh well. It chose not to fix its heart.
Photo dump from the past 2 weeks, went exploring with a Kodak H35N film camera.
