I work for the State of Missouri, but my job is intertwined with SSA. The ripple effects of a gov’t shutdown are enormous. We can’t fully serve the citizens of our state when the federal gov’t is closed. It’s so stressful.

My 4th grader had an awful sub yesterday. It really bothered him all night and we discussed what went wrong/what to do. Today at morning meeting the class let his teacher know what a disaster it was. He came away from the class discussion feeling heard and understood. Good teachers are amazing.

I live in Billings but the fam works/schools in the SGF.

I had to save up my leave, so I was able to take 12 weeks (the max I was allowed). Worked till I went into labor. Grateful I am able to accrue leave. My workplace now offers 6 weeks paid leave for new parents.

My tuxedo cat Bandit is a real jerk but gosh he melts my heart when he snuggles. He’s not a looker, but he adopted us at our local humane society and I’m so glad he did. 🐈‍⬛💙

We are in Santa Fe today (from
SW Missouri). The brewery we went to had a QR code for abortion help the bathroom AND a gender neutral bathroom. Two small things that feel so decent. Two small things don’t mean anything to many, but can mean EVERYTHING to a few. Decency-we need that back.
