Haven't noticed anyone else mention it, but, Lisa & Becky's wedding song opening with the lines "I am not in love, but I'm open to persuasion" when it's been made very clear how much Becky manipulates Lisa... yeah, that was not lost on me #coronationstreet

Thinking about Betsy and how she was defending & siding with Becky... How many times did little Betsy get stuck in the middle of her mother's fights? How often did Becky place all the blame on Lisa? 🧵 - None of these characters are endearing, they're not compelling or interesting or nuanced, they're all just 100% assholes, and they're really not at all fun or interesting to watch. I don't 'love to hate them', I just hate them, they come on screen & my attention switches off

🧵- then there's Theo. He's been nothing but horrible & cruel to Todd from day 1 - he was physically aggressive & threatened to kill Todd before they even got together. He has zero redeeming qualities & I genuinely don't understand *why* Todd is smitten with him? I don't think Todd knows why either

🧵- In Carl's 1st ever scene with Abi, he openly & shamelessly hits on her immediately after she told him about her husband who has cancer. The audience instantly knew that he's thoughtless & heartless

🧵 I think, what #coronationstreet keep getting wrong with their 'villain' characters lately, is the balance between the good & bad. They bring in new people & instantly show us their negatives...
