The Supreme Court’s First Blockbuster Case This Term Looks Pretty Fake On Tuesday, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in Chiles v. Salazar, a case that seeks to undo a major triumph of the LGBTQ+ movement.

Regarding today’s case, Slate reports ADF engineered “a case riddled with distorted facts, fabricated injuries, and flimsy evidence"

The New Republic looked into claims made by ADF and its plaintiff in 303 Creative, about a request to design a wedding website for a same-sex couple. The person ADF claimed was requesting it never made the request, and is a straight married man.

USA Today reported that ADF’s general counsel (now CEO) had her teenage daughter testify in support of a ban on transgender students from school sports, using a false accusation about a rival softball player. The player was not transgender, she merely had short hair.

The family of a researcher who died in 2020 says ADF misrepresented his work that shows conversion practices are “unethical and a violation of human rights.”

“We are deeply disturbed by and we regret any distortion of Dr. Cummings’ work for political purposes.”

“This is the most upsetting use of my scholarship that has ever happened in my career,” the researcher said, who also helped draft Utah’s ban on “conversion therapy” in 2023.

Alliance Defending Freedom is back at the Supreme Court today pushing the long-discredited practice of “conversion therapy” despite its proven harms.

Researchers told The Guardian that ADF “profoundly misrepresented” their work to the Court.
