Who would have thought that sorting and packing 13,000 pounds of potatoes could be so entertaining and satisfying. Great way to spend two hours if you have em! Highly recommend. @foodlifeline.bsky.social

If you’re turned away at the polls (in Virginia or anywhere in the U.S.), here’s what to do:
- Request a written explanation: If poll workers deny your regular ballot, ask them to put in writing why they refused it.

Reminder: In Virginia, you can register to vote on Election Day through same-day voter registration. This lets you register in person and cast a provisional ballot if you missed the regular registration deadline. Your vote will be counted once eligibility is confirmed, so don’t sit this one out!

Halloween themed breakfast table with read leaf shaped bowl containing apple crisp, coffee mug in black, white and orange sporting a cartoon ghost holding a Jack-o-lantern, table center piece in the background is a black candelabra with orange votive candles and a skull. Small harvest pumpkins and leaves on table underneath.
Perfection.

Ok, everyone is gonna have to be extra careful around us, older Seattle Mariners fans the next few days. The PTSD will hit hard. But our hope won’t die. Hasn’t for (checks calendar)….30 years. 😑

Photo of the well known painting of a pipe by Rene Magritte. “Ceci n’est pas une pipe.”
8 yr old, made a Thank You note for a recent gift. Did the front cover & back but refused to put anything inside. When pressed to draw something inside, this is what he came back with, saying “It’s a Magritte joke!” 😳…Watch out world. (Reference photo from en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tre...)

I was always struck by the fact that it didn’t look smooth and metallic but textured and rough or chalky. Of course I know now it’s the insulation tiles.

Never stopped to read the original essay before. It’s striking how it resonates today. I teach college art students but even if I wasn’t a teacher, this gave me new perspective on being a part of society & helping change it to one I can be proud of. Read it. www.zinnedproject.org/materials/ba...

It was the best! They have a great Timelapse video of that shuttle trip. I also remember when it was landing at LAX for that trip, it did a farewell pass over most of LA and I was on the roof of the studio I was at on walkie doing a play by play. I’m sure everyone loved that.
