5%, from an already impoverished and systemically disenfranchised people, are expected to bear the burden of 1/5 of the total cuts

Carneys cuts might seem neutral, but they will have disproportionate and unlawful impacts on First Nations peoples, in violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Canadian Human Rights Act. They are morally indefensible in a country that professes a commitment to reconciliation.

Carney government cuts unfairly hit First Nations Budget cuts to Indigenous services violate equality rights and risk legal, moral, and financial consequences.

You failed to mention that Indigenous people are shouldering 20% of your austerity budget cuts.

This is #apartheid in Canada.

I don't think I've come across a poem that taps into my ethos when it comes to navigating queer community within the context of a hostile world as much as "We Have Enough Dead Friends" by Lena Oleanderson.

I asked my French publisher why they are so completist publishing all of an author's work, even novels less likely to sell. She said she sees part of her role as like monasteries in medieval times, to preserve knowledge through the dark ages. I was struck in the gut a bit by this, felt emotional.

Johnnie has built an incredible platform and community that celebrates Indigenous storytelling, creativity, and resilience with our scary stories and our perspective on horror in generàl pop culture. I'm deeply grateful for the groundwork she's laid and excited to carry that legacy forwardthe main thrust of what we will be doing is building a space for indigenous horror and indigenous people who love horror at the center.
