I just ran my own tests. It is absolutely 100% a fake. Reverse image search only shows it on social media and it is not in Reuters photo archives. There’s also lighting inconsistencies between Carney and the scene and an arm is missing.

Mystery solved.

I placed a warning on it because of the language and context. But that’s basically how Xitter is run now.

I’m sure if I was to pop on Xitter it’s already making the rounds in various memes and modified forms. These are the people who do this with ZERO hesitation and zero consequences.

Kudos to them for watermarking it very very intensely so it can’t be doctored to humiliate him in the psycho MAGA world.

And guess what- they eventually made my suggestion a reality much to the hatred of my colleagues and managers because I reduced their workload and made it more efficient. The public service is full of waste waste waste. It needs a full overhaul.

For example, new immigrants who obtained work permits from IRCC still had to apply separately for the SIN- this created a huge volume of work - I suggested making SIN applications part of the work permit approval process - I was sh*t on by colleagues and managers.

I estimate 500-700 people, minimum, would be utterly redundant and jobless if the SIN registry was updateable across agencies.

This is why I am 10000000% behind PM Carney reviewing and cutting waste from the public service. It’s there. It’s expensive and it’s pointless.

There’s a whole pile of public servants who would literally have nothing to do if there was cross agency sharing of vital stats information. No joke.

One of the many recommendations I made to improve service delivery and cut waste that got me in trouble with managers who need that waste to justify their jobs. You should see when I had to do a gender + name change for a transgender individual. Crazy.

The CRA uses a SIN number but its administration does not fall under their jurisdiction. That lies entirely with HRSDC and the sub agency that maintains the database.

One of the “silos” in our bureaucracy that causes issues and inefficiency.
