Thanks to all the residents of those communities who have been dealing with the advisory, and all the city staff who have been working around the clock to return safe drinking water to the area!

Effective immediately, the Boil Water Advisory for the communities of Parkdale, Montgomery, Point McKay and West Hillhurst has been lifted.

New potable water filling stations have been added on the east side of the boil water advisory area:

- 3129 5th Ave NW
- 2821 6th Ave NW
- 2603 5th Ave NW

Check the City’s warter main break update page (www.calgary.ca/emergencies/...) for the most current locations.

City crews are working diligently to flush the pipes by the Shaganappi Pump Station to restore potable water service to the affected areas. This has required a partial closure of the pathway in Edworthy Park, but a detour has been provided for those cycling and walking through the area. #yycbike

Bearspaw water main break

The map on the City’s water main break updates page (www.calgary.ca/emergencies/...) now has the locations posted. Here is a list of the current locations:

Potable water filling stations have been deployed in locations across the boil water advisory area. Affected residents can use these filling stations to get drinkable water that does not need to be boiled first.

Clarification from administration: the boundary is Crowchild Trail. Maps on the website are currently being updated.

That other map is being corrected to align with the one I provided. The cut off for the boil water advisory is Crowchild Trail.

 🚨 Due to a water main break last night on 16 Ave, Ward 7 residents in the communities of Parkdale, Point McKay and West Hillhurst are currently under a boil water advisory and all Calgarians are being asked to conserve water. Updates available at calgary.ca.

I’ve got an ask in about the discrepancy in the two maps. For now, please exercise caution.

No, these funds will help them to open the new centre in the old Scouts building in West Hillhurst.

I was very involved in making this come to life with Cllr Ward and seconded the motion. Collaboration for the win, and very excited to welcome the NaAC to Ward 7.

Is it possible you sent this after folks were elected but before the inboxes were wiped clean and handed to the new councillors? We also got 400 emails in the first three days we had the inbox (Ward 7 is a busy one) so possible it’s in the stack we’re still working through. Check w/ ward7@calgary.ca

It’s not always easy to champion ideas within groups opposed to your point of view, but I believe this is critical work to start helping to elevate the conversation beyond for/against and into finding ways to move forward together.
