Many evil wizard tropes has the character summon a demon. But what about summoning an angel?
In the new 963 Setting for Dark Era you can do both.
Demons, angels and other outsiders hate being ripped from their home planes and will do what they can to return.
Playtesting of Dark Era 963 - fantasy rolrplaying in the dark ages - went well.
Subtle hints at something wyrd going on.
Working on rules for player character Companions.
Third version of them as previous felt unbalanced.

Looking at how different rpgs do levelling or advancement.
Points are common
Either points to gain a level or points you spend directly on improvements
I also like level gain through mile stones or advancements that then let you choose from a range of improvements.
Which kind do you like?
Thinking about advancement or level gain in ttrpgs. Dark Era used an experienct point award system that players spend on improvements like traits or research.
Other Games uses level gain or rank gain of sorts that either give you fixed improvements or options.
There are merits to both.
