This is an artistic depiction of a fiction character, Nyma the Shadowfae. What follows is a book excerpt describing the character.

They were a head taller than Shinnareth at least. Nyma smiled, displaying fanged incisors and canines. Shinnareth then realized that their form - more feminine than masculine - was framed by long, slender tentacles that sprouted from their back not unlike wings. There must have been a dozen of them, sprouting from the small of Nyma’s back, floating gently around their shoulders. Nyma’s hair, likewise black, was long and perfectly straight, hanging to their mid back, and partially over their breasts. The only pieces of clothing Shinnareth saw upon Nyma’s form was a loincloth or skirt, starting above the waist, hanging down to their ankles. It was split, displaying the curves of their thighs and hips, and it was either sheer, or the same color as Nyma’s dark skin. As Nyma moved, their skin shifted in the flickering blue and purple light, and Shinnareth realized that it was partially transparent. Nyma’s black bones were visible through their skin and musculature.

Nyma wore a necklace as well, wrought of dark silver chain, and ending in a disc-like amulet with a large purple stone - the same color as Rhiannon’s moon. If it had existed in Valgrath, it would have been worth a king’s ransom.

By rights, Shinnareth should have been terrified, but she was not. For all of Nyma’s alien aspects, they were astonishingly, frighteningly beautiful, with full lips, prominent cheekbones, and a muscular, curvaceous body which possessed a feminine shape. Their long, exposed legs ended in ankle-high, tall-soled boots of pitch dark leather, almost blending into their skin.

Episode Three of Reflections in the Darksome Mirror has been released, and it, of course, features Nyma the Shadowfae.
