two fluffy bumblebees seemingly hold hands on the flowery section of a wild card plant‘s thistle head.

just a bunch of bees cozying up on the same plant in my garden. 🐝❤️ love my wild card plants, they have officially reached 2.8m height and are attracting so many insects it‘s truly heartwarming. amazing how they all just get along and share. #dipsacusfullonum #wildekarde #hummelliebe

three supported spindles (from left to right: phang-style, Russian, Tibetan-style) with some dark brown singles spun onto them are placed atop an old-school, quite romantic, flowery bit of wrapping paper. a rolled up and felted ball of cat hair is placed in the upper right section awaiting its turn to become a plying ball.

while the spindles are now almost naked, the plying ball is proudly taking up more space in the picture. Only the Russian spindle is completely yarn-free, showing off its beautiful design.

a dark brown niddy noddy atop a white sheep fleece holds the now plied strands of yarn, the background is dominated by the foliage of an hibiscus plant.

my first attempt at spinning #yak has gone well so far. i plied three high-twist singles together for a rounded and insanely soft yarn of 74m/30g. How does one go about finishing the skein, though? warm soapy soak? what does yak want? #handspinning #phang (by Regenbogenwolle) #supportedspindles

A small cuff of a mitten-to-be-knitting WIP with a first nordic star motif forming is placed in a person’s lap. The light petrol of the trousers and light grey of the knitted sweater match the slightly darker yarn colors. Both balls of yarn are next to the project and can also be see in the photo.

baby Louie demonstrates her love of yarn by bunny kicking and chewing the sh…fibers out of it. (sacrificed yarn didn’t make it; she was supervised)

oh no!! 🤣 while i appreciate the shared love for all things yarn in this household (and warmed up knitting is rather soothing tyvm), no one tell Louie about the magic of frogging please. for general peace keeping she is presented with an occasional woolly sacrifice, though.

two similar colorwork knitting projects lie atop one another, both feature the same geometric linework design by Rachel Illsley, one is knit in cool teal and grey tones the other features warm black and grey yarns. the yarn balls from the WIP are stuffed into the project.

a fluffy white tabby maine coon mix cat is looking straight at the camera and is now sprawled across both projects. she’s daring you to touch her belly (bunny kick trap) or the projects (instant death).

First time following the #ShowMeYourKnits prompt after a month of silence 🙈🧶 So here’s my current #WorkinProgress, the #nightbook sweater by unwind knitwear (Rachel Illsley), in progress knit with #LopiEinband on 3mm n. and finished underneath in #jamieson&smith2ply. highly recommend the pattern :)

On a beige canvas bag featuring a print of a black cat‘s face 5 wooden objects are laid out: to the left of the cat‘s face 3 full bulgarian spindles with either purple or salmon colored singles are placed, and to the right the salmon colored fibers are bound to a ring distaff and partly spun onto a more vintage bulgarian spindle. It looks like the cat is marvelling at the objects.

A bulgarian spindle with purple yarn on it lies next to a ring distaff laden with purple fibers on on a beige lace sweater (Thea Colman‘s White Russian to be exact). The fibers have been tied onto the distaff with a narrow handwoven band.

Current hyperfocus: To improve my drafting technique & because they look fancy, I bought a ring distaff from Drechslerei Mewes in Leipzig last weekend. Bit of a learning curve but i think i have overcome the awkwardness in holding the distaff 🤓🧶. #handspinning #claspedspindle #distaff #Bergschaf
