Their new Warcrow minis (Mount haven) are all Unicool. I think that’s my new favorite non-metal, non-PVC material
I don’t miss big metal TAGs, but I do love the normal sized metal minis. They feel good to hold.
It’s not like they’re the only ones, but , at least in the states, most people never see metal minis anymore.
I’ve noticed that N4 and newer metals are much better than N3 and earlier. That said, I know a lot of people who hate any metal. Which is funny, because a bunch of people hated plastic when it first came out.
A friend of mine was all excited to take his Maggie to the TAG fight at GenCon… and then they said no TAGs with base sizes over 60mm. lol. She’s a big ‘un.
These are some of my first. I’ve built out Nomads and O-12, so time for something new. After Nomads, in particular, I am looking forward to some shooty guys.
In case anyone was wondering, “white pewter” was what they called the first post-lead metal. Ral Partha had it on all their blister packs. lol.
Here’s one for GenX: metal miniatures. These are PanOceania troopers for Infinity. God Bless Corvus Belli for carrying on the great “white pewter” tradition.

Finished some Reapers for Tanares Adventures/Expeditions. Painting them to their card makes them easier to find in the sea of minis for this game.

Day 2 of Operation Epstein Fury.
Just saw this! Usually, I prime black and do a white dry brush so it’s easier to see the details to paint. I used to do white primer on everything, but now I choose based on the final colors. I am either wiser, or i got tired of painting white crevices.
So much wall. I did a base gray and then randomly colored various stones with 2 shades of tan, dry brushed, then washed. Then dry brushed light gray. Been working on these for awhile. They may even be… above average. For Tanares Adventures.

I am not worried. It’s not like I don’t have plenty to paint until then.
You, sir, are an incredible optimist. I am planning on Summer 2027 for the next Kickstarter to arrive. We should start a betting pool.
(For what it’s worth, I got my Viking heroes done in time for GenCon 2023, if I recall)
And yet… I’m ordering more SoB during the President’s Day sale.
I have put off painting my Conquistador heroes for, um… 2 years now. Finally getting some paint on them and their bases. In the background: a Spectre for Tanares Adventures that’s only waited a year for some paint. Stay tuned to see if I actually finish them!

Raybox also does Escape from Projekt Reise, which is similar, but Western front and they are doing a kickstarter for a North Africa version at some point this year. Lots of WW2 zombies.
Getting a lot of miniatures finished tonight due largely to the sleep inducing Super Bowl game. Three Securitate and a Puppetactica company for my Infinity Nomads. Celebrate the averageness.

Thank you! It took me about forever to get a combination of blues and greens I liked. And I’ll try a more subtle shading on the clouds for the djinn archers I’m doing next. lol.
Today: some very average Steelheart Djinn for Conquest. Revel in the overly enthusiastic application of Vallejo Templar White. Right after I finished these, I changed my list an don’t need them for my next game. Of course.

No painting today. I’m running an Infinity tournament at Far Harbor Games. Huge crowd today for Infinity and a “Learn to Play” Combat Patrol event even though air temps outside are around-5F.

Just after 8am in the US Midwest. Car is loaded for today’s Infinity tournament I’m running. It is -28C. Rather than world peace, can you look into climate change?
I am racing to reduce my Pile O’Shame before the end of the year… and my wife hands me these Temple Dogs off the Amazon truck today. Sigh…
Better get cracking.
