The Tax Advantage of Playing in the AFC South 3 of 4 teams in tax-free states

Interesting comparison here:

The other issue is the salary cap, which doesn’t include tax incidence; so each team has the same cap number but obviously not the same tax burden.

It’s interesting, each NFL player gets a game check for each week (18x during the season) and is subject to the local taxes in the place the game is played.

So, Seattle players already have several CA games on the schedule, but most will be home games with home state taxes

it’s literally a plan for the bombings to continue until morale improves

Again, not defending NCPC’s choices here.

I’m not saying it’s impossible; I am saying what’s required to make it work is basically a network redesign for Downtown.

Oh, of course they can. Sorry, was responding to your idea of vehicle-free space.

We can move all the bus stops and lines, but that will require some more serious planning.

Yeah, and the surrounding super blocks (armory, Eastern HS) don’t help

Big wide streets could be an opportunity: bsky.app/profile/alex...

It would require some investment; lots of those routes are terminating and turning around, and the movements require PA Ave today.

We could plan for an urban terminal, Madrid-style. Also requires big vision.

but suitable for Grand Prix auto racing!

They could be planning a big reconsideration of the whole network. Or, the architects could just be drawing stuff they think looks good without an actual plan…

And what’s going on down here?

Yes, particularly for the rest of the roads.

These arrows imply some current one-ways would be two-way? Eg leading into C St NE…

Yes, that’s exactly what it implies.

The circulation diagram also (maybe) suggests two-way conversion? Or maybe not?

And the text says something about rebuilding to DDOT’s urban standards.

I think from the key in the upper right that’s near 19th st.

Existing roads and new roads - red existing implies one way circulation; green two way arrows imply a change? Secondary roads and game day operations Parking, Ingress and egress

The transportation diagrams are all basically the same as before; the narrative says a detailed plan is in development.

I can’t tell if the double-headed green arrows imply they want to make the various streets two-way? Or they just wanted a silly diagram…

Landscape plans for the East Plaza

And the landscape plan shows the same: lots of sidewalks and curb ramps implying a regular street design for what’s currently a highway.

Perimeter security slide, showing assumed arrival shares by side of the stadium. Only 10% at the east gate.

For that eastern entrance: the PDF shows their assumptions about arrivals and pathways… 10% at the “East Gate,” but the red arrows are absolutely indicating crossing East Capitol St at grade here.

Three different renderings of the exterior of the new RFK stadium

I figured the release of new renderings meant there was a plan submission imminent - and sure enough, here’s an NCPC package:

Depending on the speed and quality of the ROW, this is either a great idea to serve the destinations or a terrible idea that will be really slow

Fascinating diagrams here, comparing the relatively under built North American grand stations, particularly for the station throats

Time to endorse the actual plan, the one actually funded and actually reviewed by the FAA…
