When Gen Eisenhower went to Ohrdurf Concentration Camp, the first camp liberated by the US Forces, he ensured that the press were in attendance so that the world would know the atrocities that took place and try to take note to ensure it never happened again

Im afraid this type of thing is only going to get worse. Between AI generated images, AI generated documents, and lack of physical documents (just because of email, texts etc) historians will have a harder and harder job moving forward.

My new favorite German phrase:

Es gibt kein schlechtes Wetter, nur schlechte Kleidung.

(there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing)

Shoutout to the 20% Berlin blog for the story that said phrase came from this morning.

Thought it would be nice to start the new year off with Ike’s latest review from Amazon:

„This was a clear, concise examination of how Eisenhower’s decision to witness the horrors of the concentration camps left a lasting impact. I highly recommend reading this very timely book.”

Thank you Angela!

Currently at the 2025 Gerstein Holocaust Education Travel Fund presentations—a really awesome thing that we have at Butler, our students have access too, and opportunities to learn, study, and advance knowledge of the Holocaust.

Not only did I learn earlier this week that I’d be back at the Indiana Historical Society’s Holiday book fair in December (and yes, Eisenhower & the Holocaust will be on sale) BUT I also signed a contract to write my next book with the IHS as well! I’m very excited about both these developments!
