The last two games I played were Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Sonic Mania, so we’re talking about some kind of sidescroller starring Mr. Video Game and the Blue Blur, specifically inspired by those games, yeah?

The DELTARUNE obsession is growing stronger. I can’t stop seeing Gaster in my closet, there’s a man behind the tree in my backyard, and my niece’s sidewalk chalk’s been bitten into.

Trying to get into the heads of the people who develop games is usually simple. Most of the time, game design has sense to it if you take the time to reverse-engineer the creative process.

This is not one of those cases. This has to be an afterthought in design, a placeholder left dangling.

The album cover for Perfect | Reflections - Sonic X Shadow Generations Original Soundtrack, released on December 25th, available on music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. This album features the musical stylings of Jun Senoue, TeddyLoid, TORIENA, Circuit Freq, and more. Two extra bonus tracks are included, arranged by Jun Senoue. The album cover features Shadow the Hedgehog front and center, with Classic Sonic to his left and Modern Sonic to his right. The three are running across metallic platforms suspended in the air. Behind them is a white void that is quickly consumed by a reddened sky the higher it gets. The two Sonics are confident, smiling, ready to adventure. Shadow, gritting his teeth, pays them no mind as he skates ahead. He has his own mission. His own way.

To celebrate the release of Perfect | Reflections - Sonic X Shadow Generations Original Soundtrack, I will be ranking all the important in-game tracks featured, as well as the extra remixes by Jun Senoue.

By “ranking”, I mean it in the Sonic sense, from D to S! Let’s do it to it!

The Sonic movies are made with a surprising amount of passion and joy. It feels like the director, writers, artists, and actors are all part of a kooky pet project. It’s a shocking amount of earnestness and fun, reminding me of the earliest parts of the Archie Comics version of Sonic.

Super Mario 64 was added to Nintendo Music, making The Wind Waker the final known game that’s planned for the service.

We’re soon gonna be at the point where every weekly addition is a total mystery. This is exciting. Please add a Nintendo 3DS title soon.

The weekly additions to Nintendo Music always gimme something to look forward to.

Tomorrow’s addition will hopefully be either a new franchise not on the service or another Mario game. I think Mario Kart 64 would make fans happy, as would Bowser’s Inside Story.

…Oh.

It’s a real thing.

I feel like I need to find the part of this platform that has a bit more of an edge to it. Not that I’m edgy, but my feed is full of “safe” posts. Feels very plain and unfocused. Same-y. I need to get out of this echo chamber or I’ll just grow bored.
