East End homes have provided a statement on the evening news saying the conditions are not acceptable, that’s a huge first step for the residents to achieve through their own campaigning, so you all deserve the real praise!

‘Home’ should be our safe place, where we relax after a long day, recuperate when we’re ill and where we relish precious moments with loved ones. Home should not be the cause of stress, the reason for illness and keep our loved ones away. Kudos to @chtra.org.uk for fighting back

'I have to shower at the gym' - disabled people waiting for simple home changes The time taken for councils to do home adaptation assessments for elderly and disabled people has risen, the BBC finds.

Disabled and elderly people are facing lengthy waits for simple changes to make their homes safer.

This includes renter Sam who's spent four years showering at the gym because her bathrooms haven't met her needs. She's also sustained injuries from falls.
