No one should have to live in these conditions nor endure this upheaval. Home is the foundation and centre of our lives, home must be hazard free. Mould causes illness, leaks cause electrical fires, wet floors cause falls; these homes are no longer safe and must be repaired urgently @chtra.org.uk

The conditions and associated mental and physical toll theses residents have had to endure is deplorable. Well done to @chtra.org.uk for sharing your story and thank you to @itvnews.bsky.social for highlighting this. If you would like more information about this please email mail@anthonygold.co.uk

Thank you for inviting us into your homes and bravely sharing your stories. East End homes have provided a statement on the evening news saying the conditions are not acceptable, that’s a huge first step for the residents to achieve through their own campaigning, so you all deserve the real praise!

And lots of praise to @lewis-sjl.bsky.social and @eleanor-solomon.bsky.social from @anthonygoldlaw.bsky.social who are taking forward our group legal action and have been supporting us through this difficult process.

Thanks so much to Antoine Allen and his team for coming to speak with us. This is just a short segment and interviews with a couple of the tenants and residents, but there are so many more stories to tell.

You’ve definitely deserve to put your feet up! But well done for spreading knowledge and information. It’s very inspiring to see what the block and community have achieved through their own campaigning and fight for justice πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

β€˜Home’ should be our safe place, where we relax after a long day, recuperate when we’re ill and where we relish precious moments with loved ones. Home should not be the cause of stress, the reason for illness and keep our loved ones away. Kudos to @chtra.org.uk for fighting back

'I have to shower at the gym' - disabled people waiting for simple home changes The time taken for councils to do home adaptation assessments for elderly and disabled people has risen, the BBC finds.

Disabled and elderly people are facing lengthy waits for simple changes to make their homes safer.

This includes renter Sam who's spent four years showering at the gym because her bathrooms haven't met her needs. She's also sustained injuries from falls.

At the HLPA conference today and I think @mikey-the-geek.bsky.social rant on landlords telling tenants to open windows should be recorded and sent to all landlords as a meme

Anthony Gold It has been over seven years since the fire at Grenfell Tower and yet there are still dangerous cladding systems on buildings. As the recent fire in Dagenham in August 2024 shows, as long as dangerous...

My colleagues have written this excellent blog on why the removal of cladding post Grenfell is taking so long - anthonygold.co.uk/latest/blog/...

Publication of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry phase 2 report The Inquiry published its final report on 4 September 2024. The Government will carefully consider its recommendations, to ensure that such a tragedy can never occur again.

Grenfell report www.gov.uk/government/p...
SYSTEMATIC DISHONESTY of construction companies manufacturing cladding
DECADES OF FAILURE by government ministers and officials
COMMERCIAL INTERESTS were put above building safety
We must remember 72 people died and the housing sector must do better!
