It's the last day of the New Edge Sword and Sorcery magazine crowdfund & I really need people to grab this, not just b/c these mags are awesome (classic Conan-like fiction but progressive?!), but mostly so it can reach the stretch goal of discounted shipping for me.

TBF, this is also how I respond to my child when she tells me she loves me.
Ngl my immediate reaction after every US military tragedy is now βthatβs what happens when you throw out everyone who isnβt a white male boot licker.β
I just discovered that at one time there was a Xena branded cereal with a flavour called βa taste of honey.β
Xena, where even breakfast is telling you to come out of the closet.
Not beating that Party of Pedophiles allegation any time soon.
Thank God for our fur friends. They really do get us through.
Started watching Louis Thereoux's documentary on the manosphere and I'm clearly going to have to do this doc in bite-sized chunks. 20 minutes in and I have to do anything else for a bit.
The whole "AI" industry is just based on the hope that they can deskill people fast enough that they'll have to rent back cognitive support systems. Forever.
It's like Uber. Just that they don't try to break existing transportation infrastructures but your brain.
Tomorrow's headline "Iran War Means Everyone Gets a Pony"
Watching the US try to spin "we had to bomb Iran because in theory could one day have the capability to bomb us."
This one shot in a Van Halen video I saw as a teenager burned into my brain and my mind returns to it constantly, especially these days.
Assuming he's capable of guilt.
I bought a 3rd one off Facebook Marketplace last year.
Maybe Linux will be usable for me after all. The peripheral I rely on for editing, a device that was discontinued a decade ago, finally has Linux support.

I want to believe. I'm WAYYYYYY more tech savvy than the average person and Linux is still intimidating to me.
One thing mentioned in this video that I didn't realize is how the evolution of the web will become visually unusable for humans. There will be no UI because sites will be built not to interact with people who have eyes, but AI agents who have been queried.
The absurd prices of RAM, hard drives and graphics cards right now is not an unfortunate byproduct of an AI bubble, but an intentional shift to move people away from computers that they actually own.
I don't think a lot of people realize that the plan is for the personal computer to be phased out in favor of a subscription model remote terminal that uses AI to harvest every piece of information about you.

Just heard a podcast ad "with this service there's no banking fees ever..." and then at the end are all these disclaimers as long as the frickin ad, played back at 3x speed, and snuck in there is "...is a technology company, not a bank."
It was like a parody of drug ads but for stealing your money.
ngl, I get a level of nostalgia kick from the Snickers ads
It's wild to pull out a comic from the 80s and realize how every 3rd page was an ad. There was no such thing as an uninterrupted story.
People die because literal children were allowed to go "that sounds gay, get rid of it" to government programs.
Lol, remember all those white South African immigrants as part of their push to turn the US into a white nationalist country? A lot of them are going back to South Africa because America sucks too much.

"We know where the sleeper cells are, that's why we spent months camped out in Home Hardware parking lots and shooting mothers in the face."
Intergalactic... Planet Terry.
Planet Terry.... Intergalactic.
Beastie Boys know to let the beat....... drop.
Another tough day for team βthereβs no point in complaining about AI, just accept it.β
For a place called Raccoon City I donβt think Iβve seen a single raccoon in it.
Am I a horrible person if I say, "well here's the problem -- you bought a Cybertruck and trusted it not to kill you."
Although the blame should 100% lie with Tesla. You can't put this self driving crap that doesn't work in cars and then tell people "but don't use it."
Here's what I'm vibing with this week.

If you're saying Arnold is too old to play Conan, that's the point. King Conan is Conan at the end of his days struggling against the complacency running a kingdom has put him in with his true nature of a wandering adventurer.
