To help ensure potential targets are valid military objectives & not civilian, there's the Civilian Harm Mitigation & Response (CHMR) program. CHMR was gutted approximately 90% in 2025. The US likely hit the girls' school & killed 165-180 people (mainly children) because of outdated targeting data.

A vibrant, stylized logo for the Cascadia International Women's Film Festival, rendered in a bold, nature-inspired design. The central graphic features two overlapping film reel shapes forming mountain peaks: one in bright teal green on the left and one in vivid orange on the right, symbolizing cinema and the Pacific Northwest's Cascadia region. The reels are angled to create a triangular mountain silhouette, with small white evergreen tree silhouettes rising from a soft gray base at the bottom, evoking forested landscapes beneath a pale circular sun or moon outline. Below the graphic, the festival name appears in stacked, uppercase text: "CASCADIA" in large, solid green letters, followed by "INTERNATIONAL" in smaller gray, then "WOMEN'S FILM FESTIVAL" in gray below that. The overall color palette—green, orange, gray, and white—conveys energy, creativity, environmental connection, and celebration of women filmmakers. The design is clean, modern, and emblematic of an inclusive, regionally rooted film festival focused on women's voices in cinema.

With regard to Newsom, it is key for people to watch what he does, not what he says.

Agree overall with your broader point in any case.

Israel's extremism isn't geared to regional stability. Israel wants chaos, internal strife, and instability within the countries that individually and/or collectively challenge Israel's goals of regional hegemony and expanding the land it controls and annexes.

If the US military used AI to build a kill list of individuals (w/a 10-15% margin of error) & another AI to trigger a strike on each individual only once that person was home with their family (parents, spouse, children) so all of them were killed in the strike, would Americans be okay with that?

Chicago Archbishop issues a 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 as the tragedy of war is being treated & portrayed as a video game. He warns the longer we remain blind to the terrible consequences of war, "the more we risk losing the most precious gift God gave us: our humanity."

I'm always curious how people arrive at assessments and where they get their information. Thanks for responding, John.

We're a bit more than a week into what will be a much longer war. Why would Iran elect anyone other than someone in what you call the "old guard?"

It has already been announced, Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei is the new Supreme Leader. Why do you call him "radical?" Just curious.

CENTCOM just admitted to a 7th:

"Last night, a US service member passed away from injuries received during the Iranian regime’s initial attacks across the Middle East. The service member was seriously wounded at the scene of an attack on U.S. troops in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on March 1."

Iran had already nationalized its oil industry (1951) when the coup was executed in 1953 and, to your broader point, was why the coup happened.

A serene inspirational quote overlay on a tranquil sunset seascape. The sky gradients from deep navy blue at the top to warm orange and soft pink near the horizon, reflecting gently on the calm ocean water below. Small waves lap at the shore in the foreground, with the dark silhouette of the sea meeting the glowing sky. Centered in white serif text, the quote reads: "The connections between and among women are the most feared, the most problematic, and the most potentially transforming force on the planet." Below the quote, attribution in smaller text: "Adrienne Rich". The overall mood is contemplative, empowering, and hopeful, evoking themes of female solidarity and transformative power against a peaceful coastal twilight.

A composite motivational image featuring a painted portrait of Pearl S. Buck on the left side and a block quote on the right. The portrait shows an older Pearl S. Buck, an American novelist and Nobel laureate, depicted in a realistic oil-painting style against a dark background. She has white hair styled in soft waves with a thoughtful, dignified expression. Her light blue eyes gaze directly at the viewer with quiet intensity. She wears pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, and a deep black off-the-shoulder velvet or satin dress. Her right left rests under her chin in a contemplative pose, with a prominent ring visible on her finger. The painting is signed in the lower right with what appears to be "Boone '21" or a similar mark. To the right of the portrait is a rectangular brown panel containing the quote in white text: "When good people in any country cease their vigilance and struggle, then evil men prevail." Below the quote, attribution reads "Pearl S. Buck" in smaller text. The overall design combines classic portraiture with inspirational typography on a dark, elegant background, evoking themes of wisdom, responsibility, and moral vigilance.

Crazy to think she was out there in space, alone for 3 days in that tiny little sphere. 🧐

Striking portrait of Miriam Makeba (1932–2008), the legendary South African singer, civil rights activist, and Grammy-winning "Mama Africa," captured in a warm, dramatic low-key lighting style. She is shown in close-up, three-quarter view facing slightly left, with a calm, confident, and knowing expression—her dark eyes gazing directly at the viewer with a subtle, warm smile. Her skin glows richly against the deep brown background.Makeba wears a striking traditional African-inspired headwrap of intricate metallic beaded mesh in silver and gold tones. Around her neck is a multi-layered choker of thick gold neck rings, complemented by large, dangling gold earrings and multiple thin gold bangles stacked on her left arm. Her arms are crossed gently over her chest, emphasizing poise and strength. The rich earth-tone backdrop and soft shadowing highlight her dignified presence, elegance, and cultural pride, evoking her powerful legacy in anti-apartheid activism and global music.

Miriam Makeba, "Mama Africa," was a South African singer whose voice stirred hopes of freedom among millions in her country with music that was banned by the apartheid authorities she struggled against.

She was born #OTD in 1932. #WHM #WomensHistoryMonth

Guilty as charged. As a war crimes investigator, yes and for good reason, I am really into commenting on Israel. You can (again) doubt that's what I do, but that doubt would say more about you than me.

The Browns? 😮 Surely you say that in jest.

It was sarcasm...as the US is the only country where there is any real debate or denial about it. A testament to the degree to which the narrative the US on the topic is manipulated.

Is this (Israel being an apartheid state) something denied, debated, and/or controversial in the US?

When members of Congress ask these people about their past statements, they need to have the recording of it teed up to play on a big screen as soon as the person denies they ever said it.

It is not surprising or shocking they would do this after they gleefully slaughtered the equivalent of a classroom of children each and every day for 2+ years in Gaza.

And it wasn't just Iraq. Israel never met a country in the region it didn't want to control in one form or another by using the US militarily, politically, and/or financially.
