Great question. I have not tested range, but theoretically travelling at 2/3 hull speed (4 knots = 1.5 kW draw) then range = kWH/kW = 14.4kWH/1.5kW = 9.6 hours --> 9.6 x 4 = 38.4 nautical miles.
That said, the purpose of the auxiliary is for in and out of harbour, and not for distance.

Well, I pulled out the Westerbeke 27 HP motor and replaced it with a 13Kw electric motor from #Thunderstruck
Then I cut open the cockpit and removed the fuel tank. Currently I am rebuilding the cockpit.
My power comes from 3x 48V 100Ah #Lynac lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Converting my 1930's wooden sailing sloop to electric has been a long journey. I am nearly finished, and hope to be sailing the #salishsea this summer. I have restored this boat to 1930's, with the exception of the diesel auxiliary is now electric, and I have a radio. #banplastics

I have been converting the 84 year old wooden sailing sloop Lilith, upon which we live, to electric. It is a time consuming transition, but a very worthwhile one. Stop polluting the seas!!
