We tried to warn about RFK Jr during the Roundup litigation but few took any notice.

Congratulations to @trevorcharles.bsky.social and my student Delaney Nash for a successful PhD defense. Dr. Nash is my first graduating PhD. I am extremely proud of what she did (a very diverse thesis, ranging from RSV and Influenza to algal viruses). Dr. Nash will excel in everything she does next.

We tried to warn during the Roundup litigation but no one wanted to listen. This is what you get when you don’t stand up for the science.

Yes, leave them on the lawn and they “magically” disappear.

Also, why do some people remove their grass clippings? Never understood that.

I used one of those for several years. Worked great. Never understood why more people didn’t use them. Currently living in a house with no lawn.

Will Canada have to close its border to the US once pharmaceutical shortages hit down south in a couple weeks?

Election Day in Canada. Make sure to exercise your right to vote. The stakes are greater this election than perhaps any time in our country’s history.

Canada’s Role in a Shifting Global Order — with Mark Carney | Prof G Conversations YouTube video by The Prof G Pod – Scott Galloway

Here’s a real discovery.
The best interview we’ve seen with Mark Carney. It’s about more than tariffs and you get a sense of who this person is.
Has flown completely under the media radar.

Indeed I’m fearful. We aren’t testing much any more. We’re firing everyone in govt who can help and stripping funding from academic & industry scientists who can fill the gaps. H5N1 is a real threat & US policy puts us all at risk. Me & colleagues Kay Russo, Kamran Khan, & Keith Poulsen discuss👇🏻

This is important not only for health care, but also food and agriculture, environment, natural resources, manufacturing, and everything else in Canadian society. This is an unprecedented opportunity for Canada to reinvent itself as the best country in the world. Let's not squander this opportunity.

Need more than tax breaks though, since many of those startups are pre-revenue with little cash on hand. We need SBIR-type funding, as many have been arguing for years and years and years.

I love the fight that Canadians are showing, but will we be able to get our act together to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to propel our society to really become the best country in the world? That will take courage, investment and outsized support for education and research.

Yes, I’ve been quiet for a while. The pandemic took it out of me. Hoping this place is saner.
