In an update from the NP tonight, the Chief of Elf Team E tells me that up there, Elves drink hot chocolate, apple cider, or sometimes wine, especially Red wine. But they do not drink beer, not even butterbeer. This may explain why so many elves do not accept posts at the North Pole.
