For #MosaicMonday mosaic decoration adorning the apse of Euphrasian basilica in #PoreΔ, Croatia. While being dated from the 6th century, it represents the only surviving depiction of Mother of the God in an early-Christian western basilica.

For today's #MosaicMonday an apse with two cherubim and Ark of the Convenant from Carolignan Oratory of #Germingy-des-PrΓ©s. Altough it is higly restored, it still bears the witness of the visual language after the iconoclastic struggle dated to the beginning of the 9th century.
