Historical marker at the spot where the British landed on April 18 1775, with NO KINGS written on the ground in blue chalk
Every year at this hour, we walk down to the marker where the British boats landed on 18 April 1775 (inland now, because the river is narrower) and read the Longfellow poem.
I offered the children the option to walk the British route to Concord in time for the shot, but they declined.
