In what kind of country do political journalists withhold very consequential key facts that they all know about politicians, without having to be told they should keep them quiet, only occasionally alluding to things everyone has always known? A very transparent, democratic one, I’m sure.

Unbelievable that no troops have been deployed to assist by any country. WTF is wrong with this world? What is so bad about Palestinians?

NEW: Palestinians moving back towards Gaza City are being fired upon.
Israeli forces say the ceasefire does not exist until the government votes for it.
At least 8 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since dawn.

Calling English a 'rip-off degree' is one of the most blatant exhibitions of personal barbarism I've ever seen. You've demonstrated nothing but the poverty of your own mind.

Heavy Israeli shelling was reported across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, as the genocide passed its two-year mark, with more than 67,000 Palestinians killed and the besieged enclave left largely in ruins.

Air strikes and artillery shelling targeted residential neighbourhoods in Gaza City, while displaced people and aid seekers were struck in Khan Younis.

As of 3pm local time, at least eight people had been killed, including three in the so-called "humanitarian zone" of al-Mawasi in southern Gaza, an area where tens of thousands of Palestinians from northern Gaza have been forced to flee.

Local news outlets also reported that military vehicles and drones opened fire on Palestinian homes in the Tal al-Hawa and al-Nasr neighbourhoods of Gaza City.

Meanwhile, explosive-laden, remotely controlled Israeli vehicles were detonated in the Sabra area, west of the city, as residential buildings in the neighbourhood were also targeted.

The latest attacks came as the genocide in Gaza entered its third year.

According to the Palestinian health ministry, Israeli forces have killed at least 67,173 Palestinians, including 20,179 children. A further 9,500 are missing and more than 160,000 injured.

Finally!!! The real scandal of the asylum hotels. Why, instead of shining the light on these parasites, months were spent on demonising vulnerable people at their mercy?

🚨UK will leave the ECHR if Tories win next election Kemi Badenoch has announced
YouTube video by Peter Stefanovic
When the Tories were last in office - according to international Human Rights Watch - UK was on course to make list of countries that abuse rather than protect human rights. Is it any wonder they want us to join Russia & Belarus as only European countries outside the ECHR

The ECHR is much more than a treaty. It’s a quiet promise - a shield against abuse of power, a lifeline for the vulnerable, a declaration of who we are as a nation. In an age of upheaval and division, we must not let it be torn up for political convenience

1) Either the ECHR significantly constraints government action. Then "it has to go because of that" means "we plan to, want to and will do things that are currently considered to violate human rights" or
2) Human rights protection remains the same. Then... why leave the ECHR?

I would add one thing: we are bombarded with two claims: 1) the UK can leave the ECHR without lowering human rights protection and 2) the ECHR significantly limits what the government can do and hence the UK has to leave it.
These cannot both be true. /1

Whilst I agree that the government ministers involved should also be brought to account I do not agree that the companies involved did something inevitable - they also took advantage of a terrible situation and the idea that this is ok is quite shocking

Israel’s imposed famine hits hard
Hungry and emaciated, children are the first and most severely affected.
#famine #starvation #gaza #blockade #siege #israel #palestine #ethnic-cleansing #malnutrition
Food, medicine & infant formula are in effect weapons of war in Gaza. Children are not dying from bombs alone, but from empty stomachs, untreated illnesses & the deliberate denial of aid by Israel.

This week, the Global Sumud Flotilla tried to deliver life-saving aid to Gaza.
Instead, 461 people—including New Yorkers—have been detained by the Israeli military.
They must be freed at once. And the deliberate starvation of Palestinians must end now.

Starmer to end asylum ‘golden ticket’ of resettlement and family reunion rights
People granted asylum will have to earn right to invite family in plan charities call ‘straight from populist playbook’
People recognised as refugees fleeing persecution & granted the right to live in the UK to be denied the right to be joined safely by their spouse & children.
This Labour govt is a moral void, a stinking darkness, an empty hollow of cowardice & contempt. #r4today www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Palestinian factions have expressed concern about Donald Trump's proposed plan to end the war in Gaza, warning that it is heavily biased in favour of Israel and may be intentionally unworkable.

Hamas has yet to offer an official reaction, while the Fatah-dominated Palestinian Authority (PA), which administers part of the occupied West Bank, has welcomed it.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), which has fought in the war alongside Hamas, voiced opposition to the plan.

And the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command, a hardline leftist group, said it will "impose a formula of surrender on the resistance and our people".

A Palestinian source close to Hamas told AFP on Tuesday that the group was reviewing the proposals.

Dear Labour, people aren’t leaning towards the Greens because they don’t know what the Greens are, but because they see what you, Labour, are doing.
The best way to stop them going to the Greens, is to have more left wing, less xenophobic, less stupid policies.
Attacking the Greens doesn’t help.

Is there a reason I ask that the Times are using a picture of asylum seekers in a boat to describe rules for migrants who came on legal routes such as skilled worker visas for doctors?

It certainly appears the United States murdered an innocent fisherman who was a husband and father to four children, claimed he was a "narco-terrorist," posted a video of the execution, and then made jokes about it
