#Sinners is the best movie I've seen in years. If Michael B. Jordan doesn't win an Oscar, I'm rioting. It's gotta win at least half of its nominations. One of my friends told me someone said "their being nominated for that many awards had better not be the award."

I'm less than 30 minutes from finishing, and I'm crying. This is incredible. Look for my review on Goodreads later today or tomorrow!

A big O and below it it says: officer-involved, police-involved Avoid this vague jargon for shootings and other cases involving police. Be specific about what happened. If police use the term, ask for detail. How was the officer or officers involved? Who did the shooting? If the information is not available or not provided, spell that out.

Journalistically, police actions are written in a passive voice. They were “involved” in a shooting. AP Style Guide was updated to reflect that police are not passive actors.

ICE killed a member of our community today. ICE showed up at my kid’s daycare today. ICE is bragging about the number of families they’ve torn apart in a matter of days, and promising that their campaign of terror isn’t done.
