Lovely sentiment.
I also appreciate that you are a “regular” there—I try to visit when I’m in LA but it matters that people like you are going often to pay respect to the people that have given us so much of themselves.
Thank you for sharing this.
So tacky! Perfect word for it.
I actually bought some older logic and critical thinking textbooks recently to refresh/reinforce myself and assist younger generations.
This is excellent. Leasing by example is the way to go. We can’t really change the bigger picture but this matters.
It’s even hard for us adults to resist screen time even when we know there’s a better way to live. Kids have no clue. I force myself off my phone for big chunks of time with intentional alternate activities but that’s hard to do when a person’s entire life has been lived with devices.
Great point. And yes, absolutely depressing and disgusting. They’ve editing critical thinking and deep learning out of (most) kids’ lives.
Right—kinda sad that’s a rare skill to have. I’m getting older and hanging on to any and all scraps of brain function. Why let that lapse? We mostly aren’t starved for time if we’re not endlessly scrolling. Also sad that kids really aren’t reading actual books. (Okay now I really sound old.)
Yes, there might come a time when people (including me) are required to use it as part of their employment. Up until that time (which will then require some soul searching), I do not understand why people are willingly outsourcing their thinking capabilities.
I wish more people took this stance of “do not use it in any way” but it’s creeping in everywhere. Corporations are doing it for greed; individuals are doing it often due to laziness. It’s infuriating.
As follow up, article in today’s LAT explains more that he’s interested in tools to assist filmmakers not replace creative. I’ve heard this argument before but I’m at a point where I am strictly against all uses—too much of a slippery slope. www.latimes.com/entertainmen...
Absolutely. I’m generally pretty neutral on celebs doing ads to make cash but gotta draw the line at repping actual bad stuff.
Perhaps I’ve been giving Matt and Ben more grace than they deserve. All the goodwill earned by getting participation fees for their entire crews is squandered by this news.
That’s a lot of dudes.
No criticism meant to Flanagan here, just irritated by Deadline’s choice of actors to feature in this image. You have to click through to learn that yes women also exist.
Would watch a thousand episodes of this.
Just put it on. Thank you. Gotta try something to drag me through this day.
I had stopped paying for anything last year but this is the way. Delete it all.
Pretty neat and tidy way to leave this service in the dust. Just click all the “danger zone” items and you’re free.
that they have kept their relationship intensely private to the point that this is how we find out is probably the best sign they might actually make it
anyway, rules are rules, here is the exact moment she fell in love
That third vehicle that pulls up knew something!!
The only good part about Idiocracy being a documentary is that we are all using Costco for everything now.
Going to bed was a good plan. Thanks for the answer. Philly vibe is unmatched!!
Sure. You’re from Philly, right (or have some Philly history if I remember from your previous posts)? What’s the biggest thing you miss not being there?
Thank you, on behalf of so many.
I laughed out loud at this.
Their premade falafel patties are pretty great! (They are in the refrigerated aisles.)
Yes! Thanks for sharing this good news.
Wake Up Dead Man on Netflix. Hedda on Prime.
Pleased with my first and last movies. Bonus for a few faves being milestones.
