I had to look my own file up to make basic conversation today, but to be fair, I’m in Kansas, and it was about the Border Ruffians, and I’m not from here. (“Wait, I wrote about this!” is both great and not great to an academic with a spotty memory.)

There are a ton of books I haven’t been recording here, mostly because they’re reading for fun (murder mysteries, etc.). I think I’m actually up to 90 books this year?

I live on Anishinaabeg Dakota land under Očhéthi Šakówin and Wahpekute sovereignty, and it feels real weird for the federal government to be tweeting “heritage” about land that belongs to those we stole from. MSP - Bdote - will never belong to the federal government.

Our freedoms have been radically eroded. It’s not enough to be a Minnesotan right night. Being an American is a horror show.

I know there were years when they were the only people I had to hold my hand and support me through the experience. And with all the cops and corporations at pride, I needed the support. I don’t feel safe there.

I leave for a conference tomorrow- a conference I have enjoyed in the past- but I really want to stay home and deal with this.

PhD coursework done with straight As, give props where props are due babes! I need a celebration cause this shit was hard.

It’s little, but every week I try to sit down and ask myself what is 1 small change I can make to my regular routines that would make my life more environmentally sustainable. Today I ordered a reusable filter for my Keurig so I can stop using the disposable cups. Small changes add up.
