It's not about having a good idea or storytelling chops - that's just getting in the door. It's about having to 'incept' a working story through the gauntlet of 'creative' gatekeepers in one piece.

Taking itself the right amount of serious, contrasted with the absurdity of the physics engine/ragdolls gives it that comedic sweetspot without 'winky' punchline dialogue. Uses the medium.

I just don't see any games that justify a new system. Holding off until Metroid then, we'll see... First time I've not been eager to get a Nintendo system at launch.
