I'm also hearing calls for fewer required methods (e.g. letting 2nd grades master one way to subtract under 100 before introducing other methods) & more support to review the concepts they're expected to teach (e.g. polynomial review for a 1st time algebra II teacher).

So you know me as the #literacy guy, but let's add something to the equation. I've talked to over 50 math educators across DC. Mixed reviews on Eureka. Some teachers love it, others feel strongly it's not working.

I told @zeit.de that during #WorldPrideDC @capitalpridedc.bsky.social because while Pride is under fire elsewhere, DC students, DC parents & DC teachers asked DC schools to teach LGBTQ history.
