I think they want people to quit. My conspiracy theory is that forcing in-person work is how companies are downsizing without paying severance. An easier way to restructure a lot of these positions to leverage AI and reduce their workforce. "No one wants to work anymore!"

Most people think DEI is positive or neutral.

I'd blame propaganda for influencing the minority of people who think DEI causes harm.
