2/ Congress just appropriated $653M for RFA, Voice of America, and other US-backed broadcasters. There is bipartisan consensus that these outlets need ample and timely funding for their critical work. The Trump admin needs to deliver that funding immediately.

1/ Radio Free Asia does critical work combating Beijing’s censorship and abuses, like the oppression of Uyghurs and other minority groups. It's good news that it is rebuilding its broadcasting. But the US must do more to get RFA and other outlets fully operational after damage caused by Kari Lake.

5/ For months @meeks.house.gov has demanded answers on Kari Lake's dismantling of USAGM and this admin's reckless surrender of the global information space to our adversaries.

She has yet to reply—perhaps too busy squandering more American tax dollars.

4/ Lake's waste and abuse of tax dollars doesn't end there. She has cancelled USAGM office leases and contracts all over the world, potentially putting American taxpayers on the hook for millions and millions of dollars in leases for offices and facilities that won't be used.

3/ Kari Lake has tried to unlawfully fire hundreds of experienced reporters who know the history and culture of their audiences.

This hasn't saved taxpayer dollars. She has burned more than $100 MILLION, and counting, to keep staff at home and NOT working.

2/ Kari Lake is not using Voice of America and America's global broadcasters as a tool to reach foreign audiences, combat censorship, or advance U.S. national security—instead she is focused solely on currying favor with Trump and advancing her own political ambitions.
