Dysregulated hippocampal fatty acid metabolism following intermittent hypoxemia-induced neonatal brain injury is rescued by treatment with acetate - Nature Communications Neonatal brain injury from intermittent hypoxemia increases fatty acid oxidation and causes long-term changes in hippocampal lipid profile. Here authors demonstrate oral treatment with glycerol-triace...

We are thrilled to share our new paper in @natcomms.nature.com on how neonatal brain injury disrupts brain lipid composition and can be rescued by glycerol triacetate treatment! 🧠

The Neurolipid Atlas: a lipidomics resource for neurodegenerative diseases - Nature Metabolism The authors introduce the Neurolipid Atlas, a dynamic resource for the community to gain insight into lipid alterations in neurodegenerative disease, and they leverage the platform to show how cholesterol alterations in astrocytes can dysregulate neuroinflammatory pathways in Alzheimer disease.

Beware giving this site your unpublished data Users noticed the website had fake testimonials and a domain name registered seemingly overnight.

PSA: Many of you may have noticed a website floating around called formatmypaper(dot)com. People rightly noted something was fishy. I dig into what happened here:

🧠 The Lipid #Brain Atlas is out now! If you think #lipids are boring and membranes are all the same, prepare to be surprised. Led by @lucafusarbassini.bsky.social with Giovanni D'Angelo's lab, we mapped membrane lipids in the mouse brain at high resolution.

People need reflection.

I regret not having more time with you. Your undeniable beauty and talent were not of this world, and a presence not of this world needs protection in a world that covets light and the anointing of God. You sir, moved us, stirred us, inspired and even intimidated others to action with your genius. Thank you for being a beacon of light to a generation and beyond who had no
remembrance of the legacy that preceded us. Thank you for charting the course and for making
space during a time when no similar space really existed.
You imaged a unity of strength and sensitivity in Black manhood to a generation that only saw itself as having to be one or the other. It is my earnest prayer that you are in peace, far away from selfishness, fear and/or controlling interests. Far from possessiveness, far from greed, far from manipulation, far from exploitation, far from intentionally designed chaos and that you Brother are in peace, in bliss and in eternal light and fulfillment with our Father in heaven. I Love you and I miss you. May God grant peace and shelter to your family, true friends and genuine appreciators, Brother, King. A photo of Lauryn Hill and D’Angelo, wearing black

Lauryn Hill just shared a moving tribute to the late D’Angelo:

Dr. Marlin, a Black woman neuroscientist, is smiling proudly in her lab space. She’s wearing a white shirt, simple necklace, small hoop earrings, dark red lipstick and has a beautifully shaved head.

Dr. Bianca Jones Marlin is an @HHMINEWS Freeman Hrabowski Scholar & Assistant Professor at Columbia University 🧠

The Marlin Lab researches transgenerational epigenetic inheritance (how parents' lived experiences change the brains of future offspring) 🧬🐭

This. It gives power to a term they use to avoid saying what they really mean. Make them say what they mean.

For anyone hesitant on submitting grad apps, DO IT‼️

The worst possible outcome is “apply again next year”. But the best is that YOU GET ACCEPTED ✨

I applied to 4 grad programs and was rejected from all except one. But they still call me Dr. now 😏

ALL YOU NEED IS ONE 🙌🏾

I can't find African Scientists and researchers easily on here. As the second largest continent with 1.3 billion inhabitants our perspectives matter. I'm creating a starterpack to find folks, follow them and amplify them. If you are an African Scientist let me know below so I can add you. Thanks.
