Ireland’s frightening Halloween habit is a curse that can be broken by sustainable choices Nature’s décor is unbeatable: fallen leaves, pinecones, bare branches, and candlelight (ideally in a glass jar rather than a plastic skull). They’re biodegradable, beautiful, and cost nothing

"It’s ironic that #Ireland, birthplace of #Halloween, once celebrated this season sustainably... Our ancestors would be appalled to see us wasting food while complaining that brown bins smell."

Samhain began as a celebration of nature. Let’s honour that by making Halloween sustainable again. The spirit of Halloween is about transformation. Transform it in to something greener: A festival celebrating creativity, nature, and community.

How do EU citizens view corporate climate accountability? As green policies in the European Union come under scrutiny, three in four EU respondents say it is important that the bloc uphold its environmental laws.

3 out of 4 people in 10 EU countries believe that large companies with 250 or more employees should be held accountable for human rights and environmental harms in their supply chains, a new Ipsos poll shows.

This weathered chair washed up on Ballyteigue Burrow, Co. Wexford, scarred by the sea but still standing.

It was restored and donated to It’s Good 2 Talk, a Wexford mental health charity.

This small act captures the spirit of the circular economy.

Yesterday in our #NatureExplorer programme, St. Brigid's pupils learned about the wonderful bramble plant that shares the gift of blackberries (sméara dubha).
Some students also made some medicine for nettle stings with plantain (slánlus) and others gathered berries in tiny 'fairy cups' or acorns.

To feed 9.6 billion people without destroying the planet, we need to change what’s on our plates.

This new report shows that shifting our #diets could save 15 million lives a year and cut food-related emissions in half.
