I feel a particular need to talk about Metroid Prime 4 pre-release because I like having that time capsule for context later.

I fear we're getting another Bayonetta 3 situation here - waited so long for a very good game with a lot of issues :/

Well, that's one snub already from the most prolific game awards show, let's see if any of the smaller ones were paying attention.

Not that "small indie company" Nintendo needs the exposure, but y'know, that OST was damn good (and I want them to release it officially...)

I'm sure there are people throwing out buzzwords for stuff they don't like, I don't like that either. But the pushback I've seen is from totally reasonable criticisms.

I've literally seen a "since when was Metroid about isolation and atmosphere? Have you ever played Metroid before? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣" as a response to someone. Uhhh...

I still don't see any big innovations here for the core Prime gameplay. I've been asking for cool new movement tools in these games for years.

I have opinions on this new Metroid Prime 4 info...

I've also seen a level of toxic positivity rivaling Sonic fans. Most people say something like "damn, still excited for this game but some of these things have me worried" and then you get the typical dismissive responses. No criticism allowed!

As we approach video game awards season (which really should be *after* December...), let's all remember that Mario Kart World deserves every possible award for Best Music and I will be very disappointed to see it likely ignored on most lists.

Just set up a gigabit ethernet switch for my home office and plugged in my Switch 2 dock. Turns out the ethernet port doesn't work at all and I'd have to get it repaired/replaced by Nintendo. If I use my old USB LAN adapter it works fine, just capped at 100mbps. Apparently this is a common issue.

I'm not about to start defending 06, but the "spoiled and cowardly" sounds a lot like most Sonic games released in the past decade or so, but people would rather celebrate how much money The Sonic Brand is making than analyse the quality of the actual games (and other things) being produced.

If that's the case then it makes a lot more sense, but as someone unfamiliar with this game and who only clicked on the video because it was about Bayonetta, it's not made very clear.

Photo taken from the screens next to the Dueling Dinosaurs display at the Los Angeles Natural History Museum. There's an animated T. rex model clearly taken from Jurassic World Evolution 2 but with a basic feather shader applied on top, everywhere aside from the head and feet.

JWE2 1993 skin for comparison.

The LA Natural History Museum has an animated T. rex screen in the main hall that is clearly just the model from JWE2 with ugly feathers added on top. I didn't capture video, but it even does the exact same animations from JWE2. I think it may be related to the stupid Samsung Gemini AI crap.

Rolled credits before with about 28 hours on the in-game clock, but that can't be the end...I still have so much to do.

I think it's still a bit *too* similar to the original Hollow Knight, but I'm just having fun for what it is regardless. It's great.

I find the MKW feedback a little confusing to gauge sometimes. Obviously it's from different people, but I'll hear how the game is way too different from past ones, and then I'll hear how it's exactly like MK8D and doesn't feel like a substantial change. No real consensus has formed so far.

The little commercial throwback to the Sonic marketing of the 90's just comes off as so embarrassing to me. Sonic games back then could back up that talk with actual quality games to rival Mario. This is not remotely the case anymore. It feels like fuel for Twitter toxicity instead of real marketing

And to be clear, I'm not buying it, nor am I planning to make a video about it. I just don't care. Busy with Silksong right now anyway.

This should have been something I was really interested in, but once again, the execution just doesn't live up to its potential.

Maybe I'd like the crossover angle if they felt like genuine inclusions instead of pointless brand integrations. Why is SpongeBob there? The whole thing feels cheap.
