They’re soaking in BIZ now, and I might have to leave them in there longer than I did the others because these leg bones and this scapula are fleshier than the previous ones.
Retrieved more bones from the maceration bucket. This time the other scapula, the other humerus, the remaining femur, and several more vertebrae.
This is going to make me sound like a monster but bones with bullet holes or captive bolt wounds on them are the coolest things to me, besides pathological bones

Though they’re already as white as I want them to be, I’m going to briefly shock the bones in peroxide just to sanitize them. Let’s hope it doesn’t do much else.

Wait I'm silly it's been much longer than 24 hours. I'd say about 36ish hours.
About 24 hours in BIZ and you can see there's a lot of improvement. I think this is enough, I don't want to over-BIZ them like I did his femur. So now I'll start drying them. Oh and I added a radius and ulna to the party.
After the holidays I think I might buy an aquarium heater for maceration purposes like others have suggested. Only reason I haven’t yet is because I live in the south so it’s almost always at least fairly warm here, and the otherwise unused greenhouse in my yard has so far sufficed whenever it isn’t
12 hours in BIZ and the bones are already looking much better. After these I think I’ll do the rest of his vertebrae, either that or his pelvis. All I know is I’m saving his skull and teeth for last because if I mess them up I’ll be so mad at myself.
Anyway look at the clown shit this humerus is pulling. I'm going to baptize these in BIZ because I'm too tired to do any more scrubbing right now.
Anyway I'm finally moving onto his vertebrae, and I'm very excited about that. Been looking forward to them.
If these are the consequences of not properly skinning a specimen first, then I have a feeling I'm going to get really comfortable with skinning things, really quickly.
Finally felt well enough to do bone stuff again today, and can I just vent about how fucking annoying all of Patrick's stubborn fur is? The stringy fat too but I expected that. I didn't know he still had so much fur before I started cleaning him.
