Some say this frees up space for US students, but if Harvard loses tax exempt status and is forced to pay a $500M tax bill, it would likely cancel those slots. This results in even lower admission rate along with less financial aid to students, making it truly only for the rich.
Harvard has around 6,800 international students. Cancelling their visas will further isolate the US as countries around the world could retaliate by not allowing US students admission. This is just further attempts to bully a private institution into submission.
