Planted in the 1840s, the original beech trees in Beechwoods Nature Reserve are all mature, with saplings beneath, and in Autumn the ground is carpeted in rust and fluorescent copper leaves.

The third in a series of stunning photobooks by @cambridgediary.bsky.social arrived today, and it is beautiful.
My time in Cambs wasn’t particularly lengthy but it was formative and Martin’s work helps keep me connected to the place in a small way.
